People like the Rob Ford scandal for two reasons: 1) they feel famous, they feel vindicated because Toronto is being mentioned all around the world. Look! We're important enough to have a scandal! 2) People think: wow! I haven't fucked up my life THAT much. My life is LESS fucked (and it's sooo fucked) than the mayor of Toronto.
